Texas Battery Storage Project Completes NERC Registration

Texas Battery Storage Project Completes NERC Registration

Two Milestones, One Timeline: Inside a 100 MW Texas BESS Success Story

Bringing a battery storage facility online is demanding. Doing it while simultaneously satisfying NERC registration requirements raises the stakes considerably.

The Bexar BESS—a 100 MW battery energy storage system developed by Goshe Energy Storage in Bexar County, Texas—achieved both. The project reached ERCOT commercial operation on March 12, then completed NERC Category 1 Generator Owner registration on March 20, clearing the 75 MVA threshold with confidence.

Radian Generation provided the compliance backbone. Working alongside the project owner, EPC, and generator operator.
